Regulated Mods

Regulated mods are all the rage these days. They offer a lot of extra features that enhance safety and put more control in your hands. Some of the features include temperature control, adjustable wattage, adjustable voltage, and some mods even display the resistance of your coils. With mech mods, you cannot adjust your power and there is no screen.

vaporBeing able to adjust the power of your mod is an awesome feature that shouldn’t be overlooked. You’ll certainly be able to use a wide range of atomizers and find your sweet spot on each one.

If you were only able to fire at the same power on each atty, you would be missing out on the perfect power level for your liking. Another benefit of adjustable power is the flavor of your e-juice.

Different juices will taste differently depending on the power output. When you are using a high end e-liquid, you want to find the power level that allows you to enjoy the nuances of the flavor. You don’t want to just burn through every bottle at the same wattage. That would be akin to burning through your money instead of enjoying it.

Lastly, regulated mods are safer. They include protective features that will keep you from using incompatible atomizers and prevent you from firing your mod inappropriately.

Unregulated or Mechanical Mods

Mech mods are awesome and great for sub ohm vaping, but they have their drawbacks as well. They don’t have any chips or features that prevent you from screwing things up. Make sure you take good care of your mechanical mod. You need to keep it clean and in great working order.

Of course, you should keep all of your vaping gear clean and ready to roll, but it’s especially important with mech mods. Make sure your button is functioning properly as well. If your button gets stuck, it could cause your battery to explode. Mechanical mods don’t have extra safety features, so the last thing you want is for your mod to malfunction and your battery to blow up.

Keep your threads and contact points sqeaky clean to help avoid careless mistakes. Another thing to be cautious of is overdraining your battery. With mechanical mods, there’s nothing stopping you from draining your battery all the way. If you do that, the battery will no longer take a charge. You can tell when it’s time to change your battery based on how thick the clouds are.

At first, when the battery is fully charged, take note of how thick and full your clouds are. Once they began the get noticeably thinner, it’s time to change the battery.

How Do Vape Pens Work

Vape pens work by heating up e-liquid, wax, or dry material until it produces vapor. The vapor is then inhaled by the user. Unlike smoking, vaporizers do not produce smoke and there is no combustion.

The component responsible for heating up the compound is called the atomizer or atty. The atomizer is the middle man between the coil and the battery. Power is retrieved from the battery and sent to the coil. The coils turns orange as it heats up. If you have a vape pen for e-juice, your coil will be wrapped around a piece of cotton or silica.

beginner-ecigThe cotton is more commonly referred to as the wick. The job of the wick is to absorb e-liquid. When the cotton is soaked with e-liquid, the coil is able to vaporize the liquid.

Are Vapes Safe

Vaping is generally safer than smoking. There is no combustion, therefore you’re not breathing in carcinogenic smoke. However, there are other concerns that are exclusive to vaping.

Vape juice is composed of propylene glycol (PG) and vegetable glycerin (VG). Some people have PG allergies. If you are allergic to PG, some of the symptoms you might notice are bloating, soar throat, headaches, and nausea. Sometimes it can be hard to tell if you’re allergic to the PG or if you’re experiencing symptoms of tobacco cessation.

If you are unsure which symptoms you’re experiencing, stop vaping for several days. If the symptoms clear up, it’s probably the e-liquid. If they don’t clear up, it’s probably the smoking cessation.

Don’t just take our word for it. Always consult with your physician or a medical professional before starting something, like vaping, that could impact your health.
